Therapeutic Modalities Course 5 covers the therapeutic agents that rely primarily on mechanical force and on chemical and/or bioelectrical properties to affect the injury response process. These modalities include intermittent compression, continuous passive motion, cervical and lumbar traction, therapeutic massage, electromyographic feedback and low-level laser therapy. This course includes chapters 14-19 from the textbook “Therapeutic Modalities, 4th Edition” by Chad Starkey, PhD, AT, FNATA. Chapter 17 was contributed by Kerry Gordon, MS, ATC, CMT, CSCS.
